Right after the train collision on Monday, another traffic mishap in Northern India left at least 17 people killed and around a dozen injured.
A bus carrying migrant workers collided with the delivery van coming from the opposite direction on a highway on Tuesday night near Kanpur, a city in Uttar Pradesh state.
The migrant workers were heading to Ahmedabad following the lifting of anti-virus restrictions in the country.
The bus overturned after the collision.
At least 16 people were killed on the spot, with one of them dead after being brought to a hospital.
Aging vehicles, reckless driving and poorly maintained roads in India are to blame for the tens of thousands of people who are killed every year in road accidents across India.
