According to South Korean and Japanese officials, North Korea fired at least one possible ballistic missile in its third weapons launch this month, in an apparent retaliation for sanctions slapped on Pyongyang by the Biden administration over its continuing test launches.

South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said the weapon was fired towards the east, but did not elaborate on where it landed.
Meanwhile, the Japanese coast guard issued a safety advisory, urging vessels travelling between the Korean Peninsula and Japan, as well as the East China Sea and the North Pacific, to "pay attention to further information and to keep clear when recognising falling object."
Today's launch of at least one purported ballistic missile in its third weapons launch this month is believed to be a retaliation for sanctions recently imposed by U.S. President Joe Biden's administration over its attempt to expand its military capabilities, as tensions between the two sides have so far shown no signs of thawing.
An unidentified North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman defended the launches and again accused the U.S. of its cold-war mentality.
